CAUBO has three types of membership:
Regular membership is institutional, and is open to not-for-profit universities and colleges as recommended for regular membership by the Board of Directors, provided that each such university and college, including those federated with or affiliated to a university, is normally an institutional member of the Universities Canada (UC). Other regular members (not-for-profit institutions) may be admitted at the discretion of the Board of Directors. All employees of member institutions are considered CAUBO members and as such are entitled to the benefits of membership. One of the most common questions that CAUBO staff members hear is: Am I a member of CAUBO? Fortunately, the answer is simple. If you are employed at a university or federated college on this list, or a community college/CEGEP on this list, you are a CAUBO member.

Affiliate membership is institutional, and is open to not-for-profit community colleges, CEGEPs, institutes and other educational organizations as are from time to time accepted as members by the Board of Directors. All employees of member institutions are considered CAUBO members and as such are entitled to the benefits of membership.
